Things Get Complicated at SLS Brickell…

Mathew J. Allen from the Related Group helped direct the real estate development company to a hefty construction loan of $157 million. Although they are familiar with larger projects, this particular one saw a few complications, specifically dealing with ownership. The challenge was pledging a transaction for dual ownership into one deal. The high-rise at SLS Brickell is split between a hotel on the first 14 floors, and a condo on the next 39 floors. Not to mention that the hotel owner is different from the condo owner, all in one building!
